{zña.} ज्ञ = ज ् ञ

UKT: Though {zña} ज्ञ = ज ् ञ looks very similar to {Za.} झ they are not the same.

¤ झोड jhoḍa = झ ो ड
Skt: झोड jhoḍa m. betel-nut tree - SpkSkt
Pal: jhoḷa m. the betel tree - UPMT-PED099

UKT: I was on this page last year as my note of "UKT100706" . See zny-conj-220b2-2.htm
I still have to go over the problem of {zña} ज्ञ = ज ् ञ which looks very similar to {Za.} झ - 110505

UKT notes

Pronunciation of conjunct ज्ञ =  ज ् ञ

• Over a year has passed, and I have not resolved the question of how to pronounce this word -- at least in my mind to my satisfaction. - UKT100706; 110505; 110921
• The problem involves the 3 aksharas of the r2-row of the Bur-Myan akshara matrix:
   {za.} ज , {Za.} झ , {ña.} ञ, and the horizontal conjuncts formed from:
  ¤ {za.} ज + viram + {ña.} ञ --> {z~ña.} ज्ञ = {z~ña.}
  ¤ {ña.} ञ + viram + {ña.} ञ --> {ñ~ña.} ञ्ञ = {Ña.}

The diacritic on, ज ् ञ = ज्ञ , indicates a conjunct which is not readily pronounceable. Differentiate from syllable ज ञ ्  = जञ् . The difference is due to the position of the viram.

Pali-Myanmar words which have the syllable जञ् /zɪŋ/ are {ziñ~ña.} and  {ziñ~ña} - UHS-PMDict 406.

Pal: {ziñ~ña.} - - UHS-PMDict 406

Pal: {ziñ~ña} - - UHS-PMDict 406
     'knowable' - UKT110921

This is comparable to the Bur-Myanmar word for 'education' {piñ~ña} where the 'big nya' {Ña.} is the horizontal conjunct of two 'small nya' {ñ~ña.} ञ्ञ . Therefore, we can conclude that ज्ञ cannot be pronounced as /zɪŋ/. Thus, the best I can offer at present are /{za·ña}/ - UKT110921.
